Driving licence costs vary widely

Monday 11 May 2009

The cost of a Dutch driving licence varies from €63.90 in Deventer to just €22.80 in Leidschendam, according to research by free newspaper Metro.

The price of driving licences is not centrally regulated.

The Telegraaf reports that transport minister Camiel Eurlings had pledged to take action on the difference in prices in 2007 but little has happened since then.

Who cares at the price of getting the actual license, 20 or 60 euros, that is peanuts compared to the cost of taking the courses and paying for the exam! They should focus on the cost of that instead.

Here in the USA d/l costs are different in every state. Not a problem for us over here. The cost for driving lessons over here are high also, that's why most people learn from the mom and/or dad.
