Consumer confidence rises for second month
Wednesday 20 May 2009
Consumer confidence has risen this month, the second monthly increase in a row, the national statistics office CBS said on Wednesday.
Nevertheless, there are still more pessimists than optimists, the CBS said. In particular, consumers are less negative about the economic prospects for the next 12 months.
In March the consumer confidence index reached a record low of minus 34. The number of optimists has not outweighed pessimists since August 2007, the CBS said.
