Green energy usage grows

green energy, biomassGreen energy accounted for 3.4% of the electricity used in the Netherlands last year, compared with 2.9% in 2007, says the national statistics office CBS.
The proportion produced from biomass - the burning of organic waste and fuel - reached 2.2%. Wind turbines accounted for 1% of total energy production.

There is no question that the green economy is going to be the next great driving force in innovation, economic growth and job creation.
