CO2 storage to go ahead near Rotterdam

Energy concern E.ON Benelux has signed an agreement with Rotterdam council for the collection, transport and underground storage of CO2 in the port area of the Maasvlakte.

The agreement falls under the Rotterdam climate initiative, says Thursday’s Telegraaf.
E.ON Benelux already has permission from the provinces of South Holland and Zeeland to build a new coal-fired power station on the Maasvlakte.
