Tougher sentences for traffic attacks

The Amsterdam justice department is to demand extra-long sentences for people convicted of attacking traffic controllers, following a string of incidents.

This week, a 25-year-old man will appear in court accused of deliberately driving over a man who was controlling traffic in a car park belonging to the Ikea furniture warehouse chain. The man died in hospital.
