Student loans up 25% on last year
The average debt of students has risen to €12,000 from €8,000 four years ago reports Friday’s free newspaper De Pers.
Student loans for this year already total €903m which is almost 25% more than in 2007, the paper says, quoting figures from the Informatie Beheer Groep (IBG).
The basic student grant is €253 a month for those living away from home.
