Finance minister Wouter Bos is considering cutting spending on childcare because the budget for creches and after-school clubs has been seriously over-spent, Trouw reports on Thursday.

Quoting well-informed sources, the paper says twice as much money is needed to meet demand but that Bos sees cuts as the solution. The education ministry is currently assessing the reasons for the rise in spending.
