Anti-hate crime campaign launched

Police in Amsterdam and Nijmegen have begun a major online campaign against ‘hate crimes’, the Volkskrant reports on Friday.

Everyone who is bullied, intimidated or attacked on the basis of their sexual orientation, religion or colour is being urged to report the incident via the internet.
Police hope they will get better insight into the frequency of hate crimes. The current proportion of registered hate crimes is ‘unacceptably low,’ police spokesman Jan Snijder told the paper.
