Magazine sales up, newspapers down

The number of magazines sold in the Netherlands rose by 3.6% in the third quarter of 2007 to a total 27 million copies, according to the latest figures from the circulation monitoring organisation Hoi.
Special interest, motoring, cookery, news and women’s magazines saw the sharpest rise.
Newspaper sales fell by 1.7% to almost 3.7 million a day. However, more free newspapers were printed, with circulation up to 1.7 million a day.
