Half cancer cases due to unhealthy lifestyle

At least 50% of all cancer cases are due to an unhealthy lifestyle, the Dutch cancer society KWF Kankerbestrijding said on Wednesday.

Some 30% of cancer is caused by smoking, obesity is responsible for 8% and unhealthy diet for between 15% and 30%, KWF said. The environment and genes are responsible for only a few percent of cases.
