Consortium seeks support through website

Tuesday 11 September 2007

The consortium of three banks – Royal Bank of Scotland, Fortis and Santander – which is trying to take over ABN Amro has opened a website aimed at winning the hearts and minds of ABN Amro workers.

The website – www.consortiumbid.com – is in English and Dutch and carries interviews with the three bank bosses, information about how to work for the banks and a long list of FAQs.

Meanwhile the Telegraaf reports that Dutch singer songwriter George Baker of Una Paloma Blanca fame has written new lyrics to Bob Marley's classic No Woman No Cry to support ABN Amro staff who are worried about losing their jobs.

No people no profit can be heard on the website of white-collar banking union De Unie.
