Hofstad group on EU terrorism black list
Friday 29 December 2006
The European Union has put the Dutch Hofstad terrorist group and its nine members on its terrorism black list which means all their financial assets are frozen.
The move follows a request by the Dutch finance minister Gerrit Zalm.
The group’s financial assets have been frozen in the Netherlands since April this year. The measures mean the nine members of the group cannot open or use bank accounts or take out insurance in any EU country.
According to the Volkskrant, one other Dutch organisation is on the terrorist black list, the Al Aqsa foundation.
