Two casinos in Limburg belonging to the same chain have been targeted by armed robbers in the space of three nights, police have said.

Masked men raided the Fair Play Casino in Maastricht at around midnight on Sunday, threatened staff and made off on a Vespa scooter with an undisclosed amount of money. Police said nobody was injured.

‘Two men suddenly ran in and shouted “robbery, robbery, give us the money”,’ a witness told NOS. ‘They waved a pistol and took a cash till, if I’m not mistaken.’

In an earlier incident the Fair Play Casino on Annastraat in Geleen was raided at around 1.40am on Saturday. Nobody was injured, but police have not said if any money was taken.
