The police have issued 30 fines and confiscated 13 motorbikes and a quad bike following an illegal street racing event in Noord Brabant.

The races took place on an industrial estate near the village of Zevenbergschen Hoek and went ahead despite police pressure not to continue. Around 150 cars were also at the location.

Locals have complained repeatedly about the noise caused by the races, which have been taking place for some time, police said. Fences will now be placed around the location to prevent further races being organised.

‘We are talking about both the noise for people living nearby and very dangerous traffic situations,’ said local mayor Aart-Jan Moerkerke. ‘It has to stop, and that is why we are taking action today.’
