Girl, 17, arrested for fatal stabbing on Rosmalen cafe terrace

A 17-year-old girl has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing on a café terrace in Rosmalen on Saturday evening.

She and another girl, aged 16, were arrested after a fight broke out on the terrace between two groups of visitors. The 16-year-old was released on Sunday and police said she had not been involved in the stabbing.

A 22-year-old man, named as Jordy Gruijters died at the scene after being stabbed. According to local broadcaster Omroep Brabant, he was attacked when he went to the defence of his sister and a friend who were being harassed by the two teenagers.

Friends and family gathered at the café on Sunday evening to remember the victim, who had a one-year-old son and whose girlfriend is heavily pregnant.
