Health minister Hugo de Jonge has posed for photographs during his vaccination against coronvirus at a Rotterdam health board centre on Friday.

De Jonge was born in 1977 and was called up to make an appointment at the end of May. He was given the Pfizer vaccine, one of two vaccines in the Netherlands which are still sanctioned for general use.

Prime minister Mark Rutte was vaccinated with the Janssen vaccine on Monday, just before the government announced that it was being pulled from the Dutch vaccination programme.

People born in 1983 are now being called up to make a vaccination appointment, as the number of doses administered in the Netherlands nears 10 million. To make an appointment at one of 163 health board vaccination centres nationwide, go to the website or ring 0800-7070.
