New coronavirus cases top 6,100 again, positive test rate levels off

Public health institute RIVM registerd 6,187 new coronavirus cases in the 24 hours to Thursday morning, up 235 on Tuesday and well above the average over the past seven days.

In addition, more coronavirus patients were admitted to hospital than discharged, figures from national patient monitor LCPS showed.

In total, 2000 people are currently being treated for coronavirus in hospital, and 564 of them are intensive care.

The positive test rate has levelled off in recent days and now stands at 7.6%, the RIVM said this week.
