Dutch PM visits troops in Iraq, meets Iraqi premier

Prime minister Mark Rutte paid a lightning visit to Dutch troops in Bagdad on Tuesday.

A small group of Dutch are involved in training Iraqi special forces as part of the Dutch contribution to the international coalition against IS.

Rutte also had a meeting with Iraqi premier Haider al-Abadi, during which he emphasized the importance of reconciliation between the different groups in Iraq. This is crucial for a stable political and economic reform, the Volkskrant quotes him as saying.
