Police in Amsterdam are investigating the discovery of a severed head outside a water pipe cafe on the Amstelveenseweg early on Wednesday morning. According to the Telegraaf, the head was in a blue bucket on the pavement and appeared to be looking into the cafe.

The grizzly find is likely to belong to the headless corpse found in a burned out car in the Amsterdam district of Zuidoost on Tuesday. That has been identified as a 23-year-old man who was part of the city’s Moroccan mafia, the paper says.

The Fayrouk water pipe cafe has a prominent role in what the paper calls the ‘Mocro war’ between different crime gangs.
