Fewer firms forecast to go bust this year

The number of companies going bust in the Netherlands is expected to fall by 10% this year, after two years of successive growth, according to credit insurer Atradius.

The bankruptcy rate fell by 12% in the first six months of the year and this trend is likely to continue in the second half, Atradius said.

‘Economic conditions are improving and that will translate into fewer companies going bankrupt,’ company economist John Lorie is quoted as saying.
