Two teenagers have been killed in an accident involving a quad bike in the Noord-Holland village of Andijk.

The youths, aged 18 and 19, were both sitting on the quad. One was flung into a nearby ditch when the accident happened and was not spotted by the emergency services until a little later, Nos television said.

The accident did not involve any other vehicles and both youths were declared dead at the scene. According to a report in the Noordhollands Dagblad  the quad, which was not insured, may have hit a bridge.
