Dutch DJ Afrojack, considered one of the best DJs in the world, smashed up his new red Ferrari on Wednesday, soon after picking it up from the garage.

The DJ, real name Nick van de Waal, was driving on the A4 when he skidded and hit the central reservation. Afrojack told a television showbiz gossip show he was not driving faster than 120 kph when the accident happened.

‘Lesson in life. Don’t drive a Ferrari in shit weather,’ the DJ said on his twitter account.

The car is not a write-off and will be back on the road in two months, the DJ said, apologising to everyone caught up in the traffic jam caused by the crash. In the meantime, he will revert to his old Audi.
