Jewellers told to avoid PostNL for delivery after packages vanish

The Dutch jewellers and goldsmiths’ federation has advised its members to stop using PostNL to deliver packages because so many disappear en route to their destination, the Telegraaf reports on Tuesday.

‘We want to protect our members against situations which lead to a lot of problems and cost a lot of money,’ the federation’s director Beeuwke Keizer is quoted as saying. Both registered and non-registered parcels are affected, the federation says.
PostNL has denied the accusations, telling the Telegraaf the system makes it impossible for items to disappear.
