Just 7% of job seekers over the age of 60 manage to find a new job, according to the latest figures from the national statistics office CBS on Tuesday.

‘This is a shocking figure,’ economist Harry van Dalen told the Telegraaf. ‘And between the ages of 55 and 60 the chance of finding work is just 15%, the figures show.’
With parliament agreeing to raise the pension age from 65 to 67 over the coming years, experts on aging say companies must take more account of their older workers.
Despite the lack of evidence that productivity decreases with age, companies are still reluctant to employ older people, says the Telegraaf.
