Air France-KLM posts Q1 loss

Airline Air France-KLM booked an operating loss of €145m in the first quarter of its 2011/12 financial year, as the crisis in Japan and the Middle East, as well as higher fuel prices, took their toll.

The company said prospects for the rest of the year remain uncertain, due to fuel prices and the euro. Plans to boost capacity in the coming winter season by 5.1% have now been scaled back to 2.7%, the airline said.
