Vitesse placed under extra supervision

The Dutch football association has put Arnhem football club Vitesse under extra supervision because of its precarious financial situation.

The KNVB has placed Vitesse in its lowest category in terms of financial health based on its previous season´s results. Vitesse has since submitted new figures to the association and is appealing against the listing.
Vitesse was bought in August by Georgian billionaire and former football player Merab Zjordania. He is expected to buy a number of new players during the winter transfer season.
Now the club is under KNVB supervision, all investments over €50,000 must be approved by the association.
