Dutch SS member Klaas-Carel Faber has been included on the Wiesenthal centre‘s list of most wanted war criminals for the first time, the Telegraaf reports on Tuesday.

Faber, who came from a family of Nazi supporters, was sentenced to death after the war, but the sentence was later reduced to life imprisonment. He is believed to have executed at least 22 people.
In 1952 he escaped from jail in Breda along with several other convicted war criminals and settled in Germany where he still lives.
In April 2008, relatives of Faber’s victims urged the government to call on Germany to deport him to the Netherlands to serve out his sentence. That call has now been taken up by the Wiesenthal centre, the paper says.
