Wilders: I want to be prime minister

‘I want to be prime minister,’ says anti-immigration MP Geert Wilders who believes his PVV party will eventually become the country’s biggest party.

‘At some point it’s going to happen and then it will be a big honour to fulfil the post of prime minister,’ Wilders is reported as saying by various newspapers on Tuesday.
Wilders’ made the comment after a party meeting in Venlo, close to the German border, on Monday night.
The PVV, which currently has nine seats in the 150-member lower house of parliament, is enjoying growing popularity in the polls. The latest internet poll by Maurice de Hond at the weekend already puts the PVV at 28 seats if elections were held now, making it the country’s biggest party.
In January, the Amsterdam appeal court said that Wilders should be prosecuted for inciting hatred and discrimination against Muslims.
