Police arrest man for school shooting hoax

Police arrested an 18-year-old man in the early hours of Friday who had threatened to ‘shoot some people dead’ at a school in Breda.

The threat, made on an Ameican website, was taken seriously by police who closed down schools and childcare centres in Breda on Friday morning while the man was questioned, report the media.
The man immediately confessed to issuing the warning but said it was a joke, according to police sources. His motive remains unclear.
The threat was picked up by tv news programme EĆ©nVandaag on Thursday evening in a Twitter message. They alerted the Breda police who contacted the FBI because the threat was on an American site.
The threat came one day after a 17-year-old killed 16 people at a German school.
