BinckBank does better than forecast
Online investment bank BinckBank booked turnover of €41.3m in the final quarter of 2008, some €8m more than analysts forecast.
Net profit reached €10.3m, double the analysts’ forecast of €5.2m. Full year earnings were €64m.
The number of account holders rose by 37% to 293,236 in 2008 and continued to rise in the first two months of 2009, the bank said in a statement.
In addition, the integration of online bank Alex had proceeded more quickly than expected, CEO Thierry Schaap said.
