Clamp down on driving while phoning

Some 50 police officers have been allocated to a year-long high-profile campaign to stop drivers using their mobile phones without hands-free equipment.

Car drivers face a €130 fine if caught, moped users €90.
Since the ban on using mobiles while driving was introduced in 2002, 120,000 people have been fined.
