Police have arrested the man they want to interview about the shooting of an off-duty police officer in central Apeldoorn last week. The man, 57-year-old Jovica Trajkovic, was arrested in woods near Biddinghuizen in Flevoland province after a tip-off and a chase involving a helicopter.

The man, who was carrying a gun when he was arrested, is on police files as an ‘undesirable alien’, ANP reported.
Earlier, the police had taken the unusual step of issuing the man’s photo. Normally in the Netherlands, such information is not made public out of privacy considerations.
