91-year-old fined for ’employing illegals’

A 91-year-old widow, who needs a zimmer frame to get around, has been fined €12,000 for employing a building company which then brought in illegal Poles to work on a second-floor apartment she inherited, reports the Parool.

The Amsterdam labour inspectorate, which has refused to cancel the fines, said the woman should have done more to make sure the building firm was not employing illegal labour.
