While crime in general went down for the third consecutive year in 2005, violent crimes were up for the fourth year in a row, reports NRC Handelsblad. Overall crime figures fell by 8% last year with urban areas booking best results, according to official police figures. But it is these big cities that have seen a 13% increase in violent sex crimes, the figures show.
