Radical Muslim preaches peace

Despite his reputation for radical anti-Western views, the message preached by controversial Pakistan Muslim leader Mohammed Anas Noorani Siddiqui in Amsterdam at the weekend was one of love and peace.

MPs expressed surprise last week that the Muslim leader had been given a visa for the Netherlands but justice minister Piet Hein Donner said that there had been no grounds for refusing his entry. The Dutch secret service (AIVD) is keeping a close eye on the Muslim leader during his visit to the Netherlands. Noorani is politically active for the radical Islamic Jamiat Ulema.
