The first storm of 2018 is set to batter Dutch coastal areas with winds of up to 110 kph on Wednesday, weather forecasters say.

The KNMI weather bureau has issued a code yellow weather warning for the entire country. It says the storm is likely to hit in the early hours of Wednesday morning and will continue into the evening, bringing hail and thunder and lightning at times.

Weeronline expects the storm to reach its height in the early afternoon and says it expects considerable traffic disruption.
