Weekend weather: showers but some sun on Saturday
The weather this weekend will be changeable with showers and sunny spells on Saturday but overcast and wet on Sunday, according to the KNMI weather bureau.
Temperatures during the day will be no higher than 15 degrees on Saturday and 10 degrees on Sunday, with further drops into next week.
On Monday and Tuesday it will be dry and cold with some sunny spells. The overnight temperature will drop to as low as two degrees on Tuesday, the KNMI said. In eastern parts of the country, it could freeze.
The switch to colder weather comes after what the KNMI said is one of the mildest Octobers on record, with an average temperature of over 13 degrees, compared to just 10 in an average October. It was also relatively dry.
