Dutch wholesale sales expand by 6.6% in second quarter

Turnover in the wholesale sector in the Netherlands rose by 6.6% in the second quarter, the national statistics office CBS reported on Tuesday.

Sales increased in all sectors, producer confidence continued to grow and there were few bankruptcies, the CBS added. Petroleum traders booked turnover 8.6% higher in the period. Oil prices stabilised in the second quarter reducing price fluctuations.

Sales growth in the metals and ores sector rose at a slightly higher rate than the sector as a whole with overall sales increasing by 22%.
