Dutch flag carrier KLM continues to be upbeat about results for 2017. Following on positive traffic figures over the first six months of 2017, July similarly showed a continued increase in passenger numbers, KLM said in a statement on Wednesday.

KLM registered 6.5% more passengers in July against a 2.4% increase in available capacity. This brings the load factor to a record high of 91.7%, an increase of 1.2 percentage points compared to the same month last year. At budget carrier Transavia, capacity, passenger numbers, and occupancy rates also increased.

‘With these excellent traffic figures in the first six months of 2017 behind us, July’s figures offer a promising start to the second half-year. We’re well on the way towards our combined goal of 40 million passengers for KLM and Transavia in 2017,’ said Pieter Elbers, KLM president andd CEO.

Parent company Air France-KLM handled 9.7 million passengers in the first half year, a 5.4% increase over the year-earlier period.
