Rotterdam terror threat suspect to stay in jail

The 22-year-old man from Zevenbergen linked to a threatened Rotterdam terror attack will remain in jail this weekend, the Dutch prosecution service has announced.

On Friday, the man appeared before judges, who ruled that he had been justly arrested and can be held until Wednesday before reappearing in court.

He was picked up in his home early on Thursday morning, in connection with an Allah-Las concert which was called off following information about a potential attack via Spanish police.

Dutch security minister Stef Blok later said the suspect had apparently posted threatening messages on social media sites. A van being driven from Spain containing gas bottles had also been stopped, but the driver was later released.
