Teachers in school coach crash in France return home
Three teachers who were involved in a coach crash in France during a school trip have been discharged from hospital.
The teachers were accompanying 50 secondary school pupils from the Stabrecht College in Geldrop on a day trip to London when their coach crashed into the back of a lorry on the A16 near Calais.
In total 22 of the 56 people on board, including the driver, were taken to hospitals in Lille and Calais following the accident on Thursday morning.
One teacher returned to the Netherlands in an ambulance on Friday morning after suffering broken bones and bruises, while the others were able to go home independently.
The driver, who was the only person seriously injured in the crash, is still receiving treatment.
