Dutch bankruptcy rate hits a nine-year low as economy continues to grow
The number of companies filing for bankruptcy fell to a nine-year low in April, with 247 firms failing in that month, 42 fewer than in March, the national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.
The trade sector reported 43 bankruptcies in April, 17 fewer than in the previous month. Bankruptcies in the catering and IT sectors also trended downward. Commericial services was one of the few sectors where the number of business failures increased in April, the CBS said.
Bankruptcies peaked in May 2013 and have trended downward since then, the CBS added.
