Schiphol expects green light for growth from new cabinet

Schiphol expects the next cabinet to give it the green light for further growth, the Amsterdam airport’s director Jos Nijhuis said on Monday at the opening of its new temporary departures hall.

Schiphol is expected to reach its maximum permitted capacity of 500,000 aircraft movements this year.

‘The signals we are receiving indicate the new cabinet will place employment high on its list of priorities,’ Nijhuis is quoted as saying in the Telegraaf. Caretaker junior infrastructure minister Sharon Dijksma said she was convinced the new cabinet would back the growth of the sector.
