Donations only play a minor role in the funding of Dutch political parties, although 50Plus did benefit from a €350,000 injection from a property millionaire, according to the latest official list.
The list, published by the home affairs ministry on Wednesday, includes all donations over €4,500. Most of the cash came from party members themselves – the Socialists, GroenLinks, Labour party and pro-animal PvdD all require MPs to hand some of their income back.
Socialist party MPs, for example, are required to pay their entire salary into the party coffers and are then paid in line with the national average income.
The Christian Democrats said they had no donations of over €4,500 between January 2015 and February 22 this year.
