Machinery exports tops Dutch export list at €13bn

Machinery and machine parts are the most important Dutch export, according to a survey released by national statistics office CBS on Tuesday. Together they accounted for nearly €13bn, or 2% of GNP in 2015, the agency said.

These exports include includes ASML’s machines which produce chip-making machines and equipment for the food processing industry.

Natural gas is the second largest export, followed by flowers, bulbs and plants, high-grade plastics, metals and metal products, meat, dairy,  prepared products such as milk powder, vegetables and potatoes and petrochemicals.

Taken together, the 10 largest exports represented 48% of the total Dutch exports in 2015 and accounted for 7.9% of GNP.
