Amsterdam bourse-listed Takeaway.com reported a sales increase of 46% in 2016, the Telegraaf reported on Thursday.

The company said it received 49.3 million orders for home-delivered meals on its European platforms last year. Its Dutch platform thuisbezorgd.nl saw sales shoot up by 33% to 21 million orders. German orders jumped 48% to 17.3 million.

Takeaway.com said 2016 sales were higher on all its markets which include Belgium, Austria, the UK, Poland and Switzerland. Takeaway.com Holding has nearly 7.6 million active customers and 30,486 restaurants at present.

Takeaway CEO Jitse Groen ascribes the increase to the bourse launch last September which increased its financing capabilities and to a downturn in competition.
