It’s time to pack up the skates; the weather is getting warmer

The weather is turning warmer, ending a week in which outdoor skating has been possible in much of the country, weather forecasters said on Friday.

On Friday night there will only be frost in the far north of the Netherlands and on Saturday it will be as high as 10 degrees in the far south, Buienradar weather forecaster Maurice Middendorp said.

Over the next few days it will be mainly cloudy, with some showers and sunny spells. Next week it may be as high as 12 degrees in places, while at night the temperature will rise to up to eight degrees, weather forecasters say.

The KNMI’s long-range forecast says the weather will remain changeable with little chance of frost. Temperatures will be higher than normal for the time of year.
