The Netherlands slips in global ranking of best countries for expats

amsterdamexpatcenterThe Netherlands has fallen three places to 15th in a ranking of the best places for expats to live, compiled by British bank HSBC.

The survey involved 27,000 people classified as expats in 190 countries.

Despite falling three places overall, the Netherlands has boosted its performance in terms of the economy and family life. And when it comes to job security, life work balance and the cost of raising children, the survey shows Netherlands outperforms ranking leader Singapore.

The worst Dutch ratings are for ‘culture’ and ‘social life’, which put the country in 42nd place. The Netherlands is also a poor performer on ‘disposable income’ and ‘savings’.

The Czech Republic, Norway and Austria are now ahead of the Netherlands on the list. New Zealand and Canada come after Singapore to complete the top 3.
