Mist causes problems on Dutch roads, delays at Schiphol

car in fogMist banks are sharply reducing visibility on many Dutch roads, the KNMI weather bureau said on Thursday.

In some places, visibility has been cut to below 200m and freezing fog and black ice are also causing problems, the KNMI said.

The problems are particularly acute on local roads in Noord- and Zuid-Holland, Utrecht, Limburg, Gelderland and Noord-Brabant.

Mist and fog also caused difficulties on Wednesday and led to some delays to flights too and from Schiphol airport. Schiphol said it expects similar problems on Thursday.
