An elderly couple have been found dead in the garden of their home in Graft in what is thought to have been two separate accidents.

The couple, named by RTL as Ans and Jan, were discovered in the Noord Holland village on Sunday morning by their daughter and are thought to have died of hypothermia.

According to local newspaper Noordhollands Dagblad, neighbours said the woman, who was 80, had apparently fallen after going outside to lock the back gate. Her husband, who had difficulty walking, was worried that she was taking so long and went to look for her. He is also though to have fallen while trying to help her.

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances and the deaths appear to be the result of accident, coupled with health problems.
